The Campaign

Fans of Hula Hoops, Big Hoops, McCoy’s, Skips and Nik Naks were invited to ‘Take your lunch to the next level’ courtesy of KP Snacks by entering an on-pack text-to-win prize promotion. There were five top prizes of lunch for two at a prestigious skyscraper restaurant in New York, Dubai, Tokyo or Bangkok (return flights, five nights’ five-star accommodation and £1000 spending money included) plus thousands of restaurant vouchers ranging in value from £10 to £100.

Prizeology's Role

Prizeology devised and managed the mechanic for this text-to-win magic moments prize promotion. Consumers texted the last four digits of the pack barcode to an exclusive short-code number and received an instant response if they had won, along with a form to complete with their address details so that they could claim their prize.

The short terms and conditions, which appeared on packs, were written by Prizeology, as were the full terms and conditions. The latter, plus comprehensive FAQs, were available on a microsite built by Prizeology. Entrants could also use an online number checker to confirm that their entry had been received and ascertain whether they were a winner.

The Outcome

Over the course of this smooth-running and successful four-month promotion, Prizeology managed a substantial prize pool effectively and dispatched all the voucher prizes – 4,170 in total – all this despite the curve ball of a global pandemic.
